Mitchell and George stare at the bleeding woman before them, desperately trying to help. George tries to stop the bleeding while Mitchell glares at Lauren, the vampire who did this to Becca. Thinking back, neither should have been surprised that this had happened, especially not Mitchell. Mitchell should never have gone on a date with Becca. He should never have ignored what happened to Lauren. He should have been there for Lauren to help her, regardless of everything. He should definitely should have stayed away from Becca, should have made her hate him. But like all creatures, the desire to reject responsibility is natural.
"Mitchell, can you save her?" George asked, full of fear, referring to Lauren's earlier statement that Mitchell can get rid of all the pain. Mitchell's mind was spinning, wondering if he should do it. If he should turn her to save her.
"I can't, I can't." Mitchell whispers, struggling to not drink from her. All he can think about is whether or not he has the right to turn her. To curse her to be a vampire.
"Mitchell, she's losing consciousness!"
"You better hurry up. She's about, two pints away from being an organ downer." Lauren calmly says with a small smile, as if they were playing a simple game.
"Mitchell, do something!!!" George yells with anger and fear, hating his friend and yet, at the same time, begging him to do the same evil thing to Becca that he did to Lauren. George yells he friend's name again, hoping to make him speak.
And while looking at Becca, as her life slowly bleeds away, Mitchell makes his decision with one word.
