Episode 1658: Not another one
"I can't. Not another one, I'm sorry."Lauren looked at Mitchell in anger and disgust, trying to process what he is saying. "What, you're just going to let her die? You're responsible for this, you made me like this!" she angrily yelled at Mitchell, before walking off as Mitchell continued to apologize to the dying Becca.
What followed was numerous questions and investigations that were ended by Herrick, with George only learning from Mitchell that vampires will make the problem disappear. With Mitchell again rejecting Herrick and choosing to be with humanity, Mitchell still can't stop feeling that his desire to be human is what is hurting everyone. But he has worked too hard to give up now; his desire, his thirst, to be human is too strong. While Mitchell sits on the floor of the house with a distant look on his face a few hours after what happened to Becca, George and Annie observe him from the kitchen.
"I had forgotten what they were like. The others. They're predators. Every inch of them is hunger and fury." George said to Annie with sad contemplation as he observed his best friend. "The energy it must take him, every minute, not to be like that..."
"Do you think he should have saved her?" Annie asked hesitantly, afraid of the violent world that had been lurking in the shadows of the one she had lived in before her death. And with a sign of sadness and pity, George answered.
"I think he did."
