Episode 772: Giving a Cat a Bath

Sighing, Fannia turned to Donnaught and whispered, "Look, I know you don't like to apologize, but you're going to have to. Otherwise, we'll be stuck here and be hated and I doubt they'll give us fuel."

Donnaught grimaced, "Not unless you give me your Sheldon Cooper figure."

The Sheldon figure was Fannia's favourite figure and he hated others people touching it and getting their fingerprints all over it. It's his prized possession on their ship.

Fannia reluctantly nodded, "Fine, I will."

Donnaught looked at the chief, "I'm sorry."

The chief smiled, "It's okay. Are you two hungry?"

Fannia replied, "No, actually we need some fuel for our spaceship, if that's possible."

"What is this 'fuel'?" the chief asked, haltingly because there was no equivalent for it in the Cascellan language.

"It makes our ship go."

"And where is it?"

"In the metal spire," Fannia said. "If you would just allow us "

"In the holy shrine?" the chief exclaimed, shocked. "The tall metal church which the gods left here long ago?"

"Yeah," Fannia said sadly, knowing what was coming. "I guess that's it."

"It is sacrilege for an outworlder to go near it," the chief said. "I forbid it."

"We need the fuel. The spire was put here for such emergencies."

The chief looked grim all of a sudden, "Do not speak of the fuel. To speak of it is to be sentenced to a life of despair."

Fannia was confused, "But our spaceship told us you had fuel here and we're in desperate in need of some."

The chief yelled, "DO NOT TALK OF FUEL! GET OUT! Do something useful around town."
