Episode 397: Cover From Above
Joe grabs his gun, gets off the floor on his knees, and shoots out of the window. He shoots blindly at first. But as he changes rounds, he sees two men running up the house. He reaches out and fires again, taking down the two men.
He changes rounds again. A warm liquid soaks his pants at the knee. He looks down to see a pool of blood. Following its flow, he sees Chris lying face down in his own red blood. The sight stuns Joe for a moment, the same moment that a bullet flew in through the window to hit Joe's left shoulder. The impact knocks Joe back and his gun goes into the air, never to be seen by Joe again.
Not too long later, a group of men rushes into the living room of the house from all entrances. They grabs Joe and drags him out to their cars. Joe overhears, "Yeah! Time to collect our money. Then we can take a much needed vacation, while this fool rots in prison."
